Hi, I’m Mia Underwood, I’m an illustrator and graphic design freelancer. If you have a project in mind call me on 07920 474784
Hailing from Dublin, The Brothers Movement formed in 2007 and in a short span of time have shared billing with established rock acts like The Jesus Mary Chain, MC5, Chemical Brothers and Sonic Youth.
This logo was designed for ‘Dark Horses’ an up-and-coming indie rock band who have recently toured with Kasabian.
I’m an accomplished logo designer, having designed logos for a broad range of clients. The featured ‘Florentin Boutique’ logo was created for a lovely gift shop in Brighton, UK.
A personal commision. The brief was to design a quirky Japanese Manga style image to be printed 200cm x 100cm.
Here’s an example of some of my recent work: a portrait of Iraina Mancini, lead singer of up-and-coming indie pop band Mancini.
This illustration was created on paper, then transferred into Illustrator and the final touches were added in Photoshop.

For Brighton’s Open House festival this year, I first turned my home into a gallery in 2009, and it was a great success. The theme was Into The Woods, I produced a range of art, including paintings, silkscreen prints and raku ceramics. I also produced the event flyer (pictured) and website.
Here are some samples of illustrations I have done in my free time.
Moshi Moshi is a fantastic brighton-based Sushi restaurant, voted “one of the 10 best places to eat out in Britain” according to The Independent and described as “very good news indeed” by The Telegraph.
I was delighted when they commissioned me to design the flyers, posters and advertisments for their Japanese Street Festival in June ’09. The brief was to create an eye-catching “Manga meets Pacman” feel, and they were very satisfied with the results.
For this project I created a set of banners for The History Channel’s new site. A combination of photomontages and hand-made textures were used to give these banners a striking, high-impact feel.
